Dislikes;;
- Due to a lifetime of biased conditioning, he has a special disdain for Shades (even though he is half of one)
- Pessimism
- Law-breaking of any kind
- Ignorance by choice
- Red radishes
Personality;;
- Artistic
- Outspoken
- Mischievous in small outburts
- A little vain
- Believes in justice above all things
Strengths/Weaknesses;;
- Has the Angelli empathy ability, but due to being a half-breed, his control over this ability takes a great deal of concentration.
- Has the Shade ability of causing pain with his mind, but since the Angelli blood is dominant within him, this is limited to minor pin-prick sensations, bloody noses, and bruises.
- He has an effervescence about him. When he wants to, he can charm the metaphorical pants off a multitude of individuals from both genders and species. This is not necessarily a supernatural ability, but one based more on charisma. If anyone has a strong disposition towards him for any reason, odds are this won’t work.
- He’s a lover, not a fighter. Because of this, he isn’t very physically strong. His Shade genes lend him to not being a total weakling, and his mother did teach him some defensive martial arts, but he certainly doesn’t have the agility or strength to have any sort of upper hand.
- His opinionated nature and short temper, when provoked, often finds him biting off more than he can chew. Basically, his big mouth gets him into troubles that he finds hard to get himself out of.
- He can’t seem to resist the finer things in life. He has a touch of greed for high end clothing, furniture, antiques, art, etc.
{ we all remember the past }
Evander was born to two army generals. His father is Erebus Nemesis, a general in the Shade army. His mother is Appoline Themis, a general in the Angelli army. The two met on a battlefield one day during a truce meeting. It was at that time that Aphrodite decided to really mix things up by matching the two generals together. The truce was hastily signed, and the two generals began a passionate relationship together.
It wasn’t long after that Appoline found out she was pregnant. Only a few months into the pregnancy, problems began to arise between the lovers. Their differences became painfully obvious day by day. Neither of them could come to an agreement on how to raise the child, having both come from very different beliefs. The two of them became a whirling dervish up until the day Appoline gave birth.
To their surprise, they gave birth to twins; a boy and a girl. Looking at each of their children, it was obvious that the boy took after Appoline, whereas the girl took after Erebus. Suddenly, they knew exactly what they would do. Erebus took possession of the girl, Melantha, while Appoline took possession of Evander. They promised to never even have the slightest bit of contact with each other so as to keep things uncomplicated.
Years passed, and Evander grew up to be the young man he is today: ever the momma’s boy, but with a flair for mischief. Unlike his mother, he grew to be quite an artistic and creative thinker. Appoline would always say with a roll of her eyes that it came from his father’s side of the family, though she would never say anything more than that. Evander was groomed by his mother to always have a strong disdain for Shade-kind. He holds to this belief even today, where he is fully aware that part of him will always be “tainted” with the blood of a Shade.
At the age of 20, Evander decided to strike it on his own. With no more than a couple thousand dollars in his pocket, he took the city of Chiaro by storm. With his flair for the dramatic and a childhood of dance lessons under his belt, he soon became a stage staple at the Mitchel Theater. However, that still wasn’t quite affording him the luxuries he desired. So with a charming smile, and a healthy knowledge of more than a couple dozen cocktails thanks to his partying days as a teenager, Evander landed a job as a part-time bartender at The Lumino. With two sources of income, he was able to rent the upper half of a grey, Victorian-style house in the Mica Housing District (his lease was approved, in part, with help from his mother’s military status).
He’s lived there now for about a year and a half, all the time unaware that his darker twin sister exists.

{ show off those skills, baby }
The lightbulbs surrounding the mirror in the dressing room burned bright and illuminated the room with their yellow tint. Each bulb emitted a barely audible buzzing sound and warmed the area just around the oak vanity. Evander stared at himself in the mirror, making the final adjustments to his hair and make-up before he headed for the backstage area. He took a deep breath as he applied a few dashes of eyeliner to his right eye. A few quick quirky facial expressions to stretch the facial muscles, and Evander was out the door.
It was opening night. For the half-breed, opening night was always the most nerve-wracking night of stage performances. All your hard work in rehearsals was about to be put on display for scrutinizing eyes to see. Not to mention, opening night was usually the night when reviewers showed up. One bad review in a newspaper and your show is closing a week early.
Evander entered the backstage area and he had to stand still for a moment while his eyes adjusted to the lack of lighting. As soon as he could see his way around, he positioned himself behind the red velvet curtain. He stared at the area around his feet. He noticed the blue backstage lights made interesting reflections off the lacquered finish of his tap shoes. The red velvet curtain had a golden-yellow fringe trim at the bottom of it. The Mitchel Theater was managed by a group of individuals who had certain flair for all things baroque.
This was all good fodder for Evander’s mind. It kept his nerves at bay. Suddenly, the lights in the theater faded out, and the murmur from the audience slowly died. This was it. The moment to shine. Curtains raised, the band began to play, and the adrenaline began to pump itself into Evander’s veins.
