It wasn’t often that Aidan decided to leave the town of Chiaro. He was a full blooded Angelli, he worked in Chiaro, his apartment with other performers was in Chiaro, and his family as well as his mother’s grave was in Chiaro. As such, he rarely left the town. There was no point to that in his mind. He didn’t need to cross over to this town or that. It didn’t help that he was slightly biased against Shades, which kept him from going to Umbra.
He felt bad about that. He didn’t mean to be biased against them. Aidan didn’t want to dislike or hurt anyone because of what they were born as. It seemed so silly. But the boy could hold a grudge, it ran in his genes if anything that his father had done had taught him anything. And Shades had killed his mother. This left him with a deep disliking of them, as much as he tried to ignore it. He tried not to judge people because of this, and he was slowly getting better at it.
All the same, for the sake of his sanity, he tended to stay in Chiaro where he really didn’t have to worry about that too much.
There were a few exceptions of course. Aidan loved to dance, and there weren’t the best clubs in Chiaro. This had led him to Nox. Because Nox was a big party town with the best clubs that anyone could dream up existing among the down town district. So he didn’t mind Nox that much, it was mixed and thus there was less of a chance of his prejudice, which he tried his best to ignore, flaring up in the back of his mind. It was a win-win. Besides, on one such night in Nox, he had met some really good friends before.
However, they also had some killer restaurants in Nox. That was where he was currently heading at the very least. He had gotten slightly dressed up, with a black button down and nice jeans, but The Blue Moon, where he was headed, wasn’t a fancy type of restaurant where you had to dress up, like you had to for the ones in Pandora. He just wanted to look nice, there was nothing wrong with that. But not too nice because then you could get teased for that and he was not looking for that either. Just nice and in the middle.
He had come here before, so he knew the waitstaff well enough and smiled, waving to one or two that he knew as he entered. He looked around for a moment when he entered. This place really took their name very seriously. The booths, tables and chairs were all a rich shade of blue that seemed to shine under the low lightning of the place, and the walls were a soft blue that seemed to be made brighter by the dark blue of the floor. It was all blue.
But hey, if they wanted to take their name seriously, that was their decision, wasn’t it? He just liked coming to this place because it had a relaxed atmosphere and also it had some of the best steak that he had ever tasted before. So it was worth it to come all the way over from Chiaro just to get a bite to eat. He planned on going out to party and dance a bit later anyway, so it was just easier to already be in this town.
He was not surprised that, at around 5 or so, it was slightly packed in here. There was no one to seat people, it was a take your own seat sort of place and the waitress would come over with a menu after your seat, so he slipped into one of the last empty booths in the corner. It was big enough for four, so he felt bad taking it all to himself but none of the two tops were open for him to take. No one seemed to complain when he took it, and he would be happy to share with someone else, so he supposed it wasn’t a big deal? He hoped not at the very least.
He smiled politely at the waitress when she brought over a menu, shrugging off his jacket before he took it from her and then placed an order for a water. He was good at taking care of his body, and tried to stay away from the junky things like soda. He tried to always have water instead because it was the best for the body. She smiled and nodded, heading off to get that for him as he began to study the menu. He already pretty much knew what he wanted, but it was always good to look at one’s options first, right? He liked to anyway. It was an odd quirk of his, but he supposed it came from the fact that his mother had always done that too and he always looked up to his mother, even if she had died when he was young.
He smiled a little at the memory of her taking him to this place to eat when he was little.
It hadn’t changed at all since then. He shook his head and poored over the menu, lost in his own little world as he did so and not really reading the words that were passing before his eyes at all.
